What’s a quote that you make frequent use of in daily life that doesn’t get enough love on this sub?
I use, “Oh, my God! Barry just palmed the dip. He's trying to steal spinach dip, Barry is!” a few times a day at least
Tbh lately i feel like my irl friends are busy with their lives and we don't talk that much anymore, so I wanna make an internet friend, someone I can talk to on a daily basis about anything. Let's chat and see if we vibe!
Is there any way to ensure I won’t get my parcel returned to sender due to “insufficient address”? I’ve seen a lot of people who’ve dealt with the same problem and the trend is using EMS. I’d love to use EMS and they tend to be the cheapest and fastest, but last time I ended up paying for shipping twice which was a pain in the ass.
Hey everyone,
Have you ever wondered why baseball jerseys often feature the team name, instead of just the player’s name or number? Here's a bit of history and reasoning behind it!
![img](v1rskkhkpade1)
**1. Tradition and Team Spirit**
Baseball has deep-rooted traditions, and the uniform style is a reflection of that. The team name adds to the sense of unity and pride. It’s not just about the player – it’s about the team and the collective effort.
Players wear the name of the team because they represent more than just themselves; they represent the entire organization and the fans who support it.

**2. The “Team First” Mentality**
While the player’s number or name is important for identification, the team name signifies the bigger picture: the collective effort, the franchise, and the fanbase. It’s a subtle reminder that the team is larger than any individual player.
The tradition emphasizes that the game is about the team rather than just the star player.
**3. Evolution of Jerseys**
Back in the day, baseball jerseys were more simple, often with just the team’s name and no player-specific identifiers. Over time, as the sport grew in popularity and individual players became more recognizable, player names were added. However many teams still maintain the classic team-centric design with the team name prominently displayed.
Great example of fireproofing a home here replacing wooden shingles with ceramic siding. Most homeowners can do this for a fraction of the total cost of the property. Should absolutely be a requirement on rebuilds.

Help! Just bought a Galaxy a9 Plus tablet trying to download fortnite. Once I finally got the epic game store to install I started downloading fortnite and waited and waited and waited and finally it said that there was a corrupted file $5 and reinstalled epic game store and fortnite multiple times. What what can I do? I'm trying to set this up for my son.
So I registered as an NPS contributor in Jan, 2020 and started putting in some money, primarily to save taxes. Now I have moved more into DIY planning and do not see NPS as the best investment driver. The current value of my holdings is 2.47L for a total investment of 1.8L.
Now since i have not yet completed 5 years, I can't withdraw the whole amount. I was thinking of making a partial withdrawal which is 25% of my invested amount so 45k. And then apply for a complete withdrawal request once I hit the 5 year milestone. Is it possible to do that? I found info abut not able to make another partial withdrawal request for 5 years but nothing about gap between partial and complete withdrawal.
You know, I wasn't here when the subreddit was created. But I was one of the first 100. I was there when the discord group was made. I was the first moderator for the discord too. I remember fighting for my life in the comments on r/gold because absolutely no one believed in the goldback, and most didn't even hear of them at the time. I remember when there were probably a dozen videos on goldbacks on YouTube to speak of. I used to make posts to celebrate every 100 new members because we were fighting for every single inch of growth. It took quite a while to grow another 100.
I mention all this because it really makes me smile to see this community grow into what it has always deserved to be. No, not everyone agrees with us that the goldback is world-changing. But most are willing to have a civil discussion about it now. And open discussions win up support because the facts are on our side.
The subreddit is growing so quickly now. The largest and in my opinion most significant series just occurred yesterday. I can't wait to see where this all takes us and I'm glad to be part of this awesome community with you all
Cotton candy hot plate is completely stuck. I cannot for the life of me pull it off, it just sorta comes up but won’t come out pretty sure I pulled it out of place. But I was able to push it back into place. I tried heating it up to try and pull it off using heat protected gloves but it did not work. Now it is just sorta making a crackling sound like sugar is falling through it even though it’s completely still. I followed every direction and am at a complete loss, is there a reason it’s making the crackling sound, anyone know how to force the hot plate off ? Kinda sucks but if it does not come off i guess i’ll just use it till it stops working completely then toss it , it’s cheap and I could always get a new one. Hopefully it won’t like explode or some crap like that if i continue using it lol.
I like chatting with interesting people, especially right before I go to sleep. Just looking for cool people, open to some flirty fun, but it's not necessary.
* Car-centrism is the result of crony capitalism; not capitalism. Just look at Japan, a mostly capitalistic nation. Almost everyone walks everywhere.
* A big reason why I hate cars is how authoritarian the road system is. The government says where you can go, how cities are built (and frickin destroyed), what draconian laws are on the roads, etc. If there were no cars, we would feel a lot more free and we would actually be more free in the libertarian sense.
* The "America vs. Europe" thing is distracting us from the real problem: cars. European cities have cars too and they're kinda destroying their cities too. Just because one is worse than the other doesn't mean that's all we should talk about.
* Speaking of that, many urban areas and suburbs in America are actually very good, comparatively speaking. Chicago, New York, Las Vegas, Philadephia, San Francisco, Cincinnati, Washington DC, Baltimore, Boston, Miami, and probably a few other major cities have things like (comparatively) dense living, no parking lots or highways in the middle of downtown areas, good use of land, many walkable areas, great public transit used by a lot of the city's population, etc.
* Commie blocks are typically less dense than even your average apartment area in a small US city. They're also ugly and authoritarian.
This hand crossbow is made of a strange rubbery material that seems to resist, magically or otherwise, the acid that constantly drips from the edge of any bolt loaded into it. Ranged attacks made with this hand crossbow deal an extra 2 acid damage (or equal to proficiency?) and keep corroding the target, dealing 1 less damage at the end of each of its turns. (meaning 2, 1, 0; or up to 6, 5, ..., 1, 0)
On a natural 20, the Heart Melter casts *Melf's acid arrow* at the target. On a natural 1, the Heart Melter casts *Tasha's caustic brew* (save DC 14) in the direction of the target (no concentration required), including the wielder in the spell's Area of Effect.
